EPD talks Guns & Hoses and Pickleball with the Police

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- April is a big month for the Evansville Police Department, as first responders from the area will participate in the annual Guns & Hoses Charity boxing tournament this weekend. The event hosted by 911 Gives Hope will take place on Saturday at the Ford Center in Evansville and feature 15 3-round fights to raise money for charity. The Hoses team currently leads the series over the Guns team 9-8.

Later this month, the department will also host Pickleball with the Police at the C.K. Newsome Center. The free event will take place on April 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to players of all skill levels, providing community members with a chance to play alongside and against local officers in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
