Smithfield street reopens after bomb squad removes unexploded ordnance

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WJAR) — A neighborhood street in Smithfield has reopened after firefighters found two two unexploded ordnances inside a home.

Fire officials said they responded to a home on Church Street for a person that came across a military shell.

The fire department said a resident was cleaning out their home when they found it.
