OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) – An effort to make streets safer in Overland Park is expected to begin later this month.
The city plans to install so-called “street cushions” in four different areas to see if they will reduce traffic speeds and lead to fewer crashes, injuries and deaths.
The cushions are described as large speed bumps that slow down how fast people can drive through an area. It will add the cushions in four areas to see how well they work. You’ll soon find them at:
- 87th and Hadley
- 101st and Lamar
- 133rd and Grant
- Metcalf and Edgewater
It’s all part of a pilot program involved with Overland Park’s Safe Streets Plan…
