Billy Bob Thornton’s band comes to Springfield this summer

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Billy Bob Thornton is bringing his band, The Boxmasters, to Gillioz Theatre in July.

The tour comes as Thornton continues to ride momentum from his role in the hit television series Landman, and as his band is set to release their 21st album in June called In The Bay. The group will be in Springfield on July 5, with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30.

Thornton, whose musical alter ego is W.R. “Bud” Thornton, has toured with The Boxmasters since forming the band in 2006. The group blends rock, country and blues and has strong influence from the music of the 1960’s.

The Springfield stop is part of a summer tour, bringing the band to audiences across the country. Fans can expect a mix of original songs and high-energy performances, with Thornton on vocals and drums…
