Urban Field Pizza has gone from a quiet newcomer on Longmont’s Main Street to one of Northern Colorado’s most adventurous pizza outfits, fusing Detroit-style pies with toppings you’re more likely to spot on a food truck. In just a few years, the chef-driven operation has added a Loveland storefront and a counter-service outpost in Windsor, all while tinkering with offbeat creations like banh mi and gyro-topped pizzas. The growth is unfolding alongside a community-focused push and a planned Colorado Pizza Festival in Longmont this fall.

Creative pies are driving growth

Urban Field is betting big on inventive toppings to stand out in a crowded Front Range pizza landscape. According to Axios, chef and co-founder Nick Swanson returned from the International Pizza Expo this spring with fresh inspiration and is folding more experimental pizzas into the regular lineup. Axios also reports that the concept backs up its pan and square Detroit-style pies with burgers, pastas, salads and craft cocktails.
