Brazilian jiu-jitsu legends Marcelo Garcia and Ryron Gracie will headline a fundraising seminar later this month in Honolulu, as Hawaiʻi’s martial arts community rallies around longtime instructor Todd Tanaka in his fight against cancer.
The seminar is scheduled for April 19 at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, with sessions held in the Bamboo Catering Ballroom.
Tanaka, a pioneer of Brazilian jiu-jitsu in Hawaiʻi, has been a black belt since 2009 and currently serves as a lead instructor at the Relson Gracie Academy Team HK in Honolulu. Over decades of involvement in the sport, he has helped develop numerous athletes across the islands…
