Felon tries to stab police dog during Spokane County arrest

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A convicted felon attempted to stab a police dog with a knife during a domestic violence arrest on Saturday, March 28 in Spokane County, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Mitchell D. Hyams, 25, was arrested after deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a mobile home park near South Geiger Boulevard and West Lawton Road around 11 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies found Hyams hiding in a bathroom closet, where he refused to surrender despite multiple commands, according to the sheriff’s office.
