1. Nevada softball wins crucial series at Grand Canyon
The Nevada softball team won a key Mountain West series at No. 22 Grand Canyon over the weekend, pulling within two games of first place in the conference behind the Antelopes. All three games were decided by 4-3 scores with Grand Canyon winning the opener and Nevada winning the final two. In game two, the Wolf Pack completed a game-ending double play as Bailie Clark threw out Ellie Pond tying to tag up from third base with the game-tying run. In game three, Nevada wiggled out of a bases-loaded one-out jam when Talia Tretton stuck out Tinley Lucas for the inning’s second out before Madison Clark’s diving stop at second base led to a force out at second to end the game.
