Pre-Dawn Monroe House Inferno Kills 59-Year-Old, Injures Woman

An early yesterday morning house fire in Monroe turned deadly when a 59-year-old man died and a woman was sent to the hospital after firefighters arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. Crews pulled the man from the room where the fire was burning most intensely, but he later died at a nearby hospital. Sheriff Eddie Cathey also thanked first responders for their quick actions, according to reporting by WBTV.
