JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a suspected home invasion-turned-shooting on University Boulevard North, near Jacksonville University, according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigators.
In a news briefing, JSO Sgt. Christopher Smith said police responded to a report of a person shot at approximately 4 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man in his late teens with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The sheriff’s office said he had life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
