Carson High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon as Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies launched an on-campus investigation, turning an ordinary school day into a tightly controlled security situation. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that all students were safe and accounted for, and that access to the campus was locked down while they worked.
School entrances were secured, and parents were urged to stay away from the campus while the investigation unfolded. Officials did not immediately disclose what prompted the law enforcement response.
