A customer was arrested after refusing to pay his bill at a restaurant in The Villages.
Paul Greer Szymanski, 76, who lives in the Water Oak community in Lady Lake, was at Darrell’s Diner at Southern Trace Plaza at about noon Saturday when he refused to pay his bill, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Szymanski claimed the restaurant was violating an unspecified federal law.
Law enforcement was called to the scene and Szymanski ultimately paid his bill, but remained uncooperative. He was told to leave the restaurant, but refused. After being told to leave three times and continuing to refuse to leave, Szymanski was taken into custody on a charge of trespassing. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond…
