An 18-year-old man was shot in downtown Oakland yesterday, just before 2:30 AM, on 17th Street near Broadway. He was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower back and is in stable condition, while the suspected gunman fled the scene, according to KTVU. During the response, police say another man allegedly punched an officer while apparently trying to help the shooter escape; that man was arrested.
