TALLAHASSEE — Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell three-star defensive lineman Kalib Spivey was offered by Florida State in May of 2024. He camped with FSU in June of that same year. And then the two parties seemingly went in different directions.
Spivey explained that FSU’s interest in him fell off a bit from 2024 into 2025, but it came back with the hiring of new defensive ends coach Nick Williams.
“I got on the phone with Coach Williams and he was just saying how good of a player I was and how he can develop me into being the best player that I can be. That really stood out to me. He didn’t get on the phone talking about draft picks and alll that, he just straight up talked to me about development. Had a real conversation with me and I really enjoyed that.”…
