Chattanooga’s biggest girls’ night out is back – and it’s all for a great cause

If you’ve got an old prom, wedding, or bridesmaid dress tucked away in the back of your closet, now’s the time to dust it off.

The Moth Ball is back on April 23 at the First Horizon Pavilion, and it promises a night full of laughter, throwback dancing, good food, and even better company. Known as Chattanooga’s ultimate ladies’ night out, the event brings women together from all across our community to have fun — and to give back.

Cailey Easterly with CityScope and Theresa Nix with Downside Up stopped by to share how this beloved event has grown into the largest women attended fundraiser in the Scenic City. Since it began in 2012, The Moth Ball has raised more than $500,000 for local nonprofits supporting women in Hamilton County.

In 2026, every dollar raised will benefit Downside Up, an organization dedicated to empowering children with disabilities and the families who love and care for them. With a special focus on “care for the caretaker,” Downside Up offers family camps, educational classes, retreats for moms, and meaningful ways to build connection and community…
