The Falls Lake Academy Firebirds managed to hold off a hungry South Granville team March 30 on the pitch.
The Firebirds won the non-conference match with a 3-0 score.
Falls Lake Academy opened the match with a goal from Ava Grace Johnson. Hannah Rister provided assist on Johnson’s goal.
Despite South Granville’s best efforts to score, the Firebirds held a 1-0 advantage at the end of the first half.
Devanee Wampler scored the second goal of the match for the Firebirds.
South Granville continued to move the ball well in the center of the field, but Falls Lake Academy was able to cut off any movement toward the goal.
