Gas prices in Rochester exceed $4 per gallon as war with Iran continues

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester’s average price for gas continues to rise, surpassing $4 per gallon on Monday, as the war with Iran enters a sixth week.

Rochester’s average hit $4.04 per gallon, according to AAA’s latest report. That’s up nine cents from last week. It’s also higher compared to Buffalo and Syracuse ($4.01 per gallon), Rome ($4.05 per gallon), and Batavia ($3.98 per gallon).

The national average for gas is even higher, hitting $4.12 per gallon on Monday. That’s up 13 cents from last Monday. AAA says last week was the first time since August of 2022 that the national average for gas exceeded $4 per gallon. New York State’s average for gas is also up, hitting $4.07 per gallon.
