ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck by an SUV in South Asheville and died the next day, police confirmed.
Around 8:41 p.m. on Friday, April 3, officers with the Asheville Police Department responded to Airport Road to investigate a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that a 2024 Kia Sportage was traveling eastbound when it struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway.
The pedestrian was identified as 31-year-old Andrew Robert Angstead. Police said Angstead was taken to Mission Hospital, where he died of his injuries the following day…
