Mother demands answers after son dies following medical emergency in Omaha jail

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – An exclusive First Alert 6 investigation into questions raised by a grieving mother. In late February, her adult son suffered a medical emergency in the Douglas County Jail and died 11 days later at a hospital.

The mother of 33-year-old Edward Gifford says he suffered a mental breakdown when police came to their home for a wellness check.
