Jeffersonville man in custody following police pursuit

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WAVE) – Indiana State Police said a Jeffersonville man was arrested early Saturday, April 4, after troopers pursued a pickup truck in Clark County.

Police said Trooper Carson Thomas tried to stop a silver Dodge Ram shortly after midnight in Jeffersonville after seeing multiple traffic violations, including crossing the center line on West 10th Street near Mechanics Street and driving 42 mph in a 35-mph zone.

According to ISP, the driver initially stopped at a red light at 10th and Spring streets, then accelerated and fled toward the I-65 southbound entrance ramp. Police said troopers used Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuvers to stop the truck after it continued driving, including traveling the wrong way and nearly striking other motorists and a Jeffersonville Police vehicle responding to assist…
