PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A Trader Joe’s store in northeast Portland is set to reopen on Monday after it closed due to asbestos exposure in early March, according to a company spokesperson.
The store at 4715 SE Cesar Chavez Blvd. temporarily closed on March 4 after someone reported to DEQ that asbestos may have been exposed during a renovation project, which began in mid-February.
DEQ told FOX 12 that they stepped in after someone from the EPA also reported the exposure. That person took several videos of customers walking over black adhesive on the floor, which later tested positive for asbestos…
