SIOUX FALLS — Federal regulators have filed suit against a Valley Springs business accused of violating whistleblower protections by firing an employee who reported a workplace injury.
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration announced Monday, April 6, the filing of a federal lawsuit against Valley Springs-based Stone Hill Excavation and its successor, Split Rock Sand and Gravel.
The eight-page lawsuit asks a federal court to hold the company and its successor liable for illegal retaliation and the reinstatement and payment of back wages and damages to a terminated employee, including $100,000 in punitive damages…
