Four-star center Yabi Aklog is onboard with Justin Joyner’s vision for Oregon State

New Oregon State coach Justin Joyner is having one heck of a week.

On Saturday night, he helped coach Michigan into Monday’s National Championship Game as he finishes up assistant coach duties for Dusty May. On Wednesday, he was in Corvallis setting up shop and hosting four-star big man Yabi Aklog of Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic for an unofficial visit. His efforts paid off on Sunday as Aklog confirmed to 247Sports that he’s Joyner’s first commitment as a head coach.

Aklog believed in the development plan that Joyner and his staff had in him, the body of work that is currently on display at Michigan and the opportunity to help rebuild a program didn’t hurt either…
