Ocean Safety responds to unresponsive child at Ko’Olina lagoon

KAPOLEI, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Ocean Safety Department (HOSD) responded to a lagoon in Ko’Olina after reports of an unresponsive child on Sunday evening.

HOSD crews responded at approximately 5:34 p.m. to the Nai’a Lagoon following reports of a little girl, believed to be 4-years-old, who was reported to be unresponsive.

Upon arrival, Honolulu Ocean Safety personnel were informed that bystanders had initiated CPR prior to their arrival. HOSD Lifeguards immediately assumed patient care, continuing resuscitative efforts and administering oxygen…
