CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (April 6, 2026)–Kirkwood Community College’s Exercise Science program is expanding opportunities for students by adding the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) credential to its curriculum, allowing students to graduate with both a degree and a nationally recognized certification.
The NASM Certified Personal Trainer credential is considered one of the most respected qualifications in the fitness field. Through the program, students gain evidence-based knowledge and hands-on experience to create personalized training plans and effectively guide clients. Recognized by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), this certification enhances graduates’ professional credibility, making them more attractive to employers and positioning them for stronger earning potential.
