Franklin County court official resigns after physical hallway incident

A Franklin County bailiff has resigned after a hallway security camera captured video that appears to show her shoving a woman and smacking a cell phone out of her hand outside a Juvenile and Domestic Relations courtroom.

The incident occurred on March 24 outside Judge Monica Hawkins’ courtroom on the sixth floor of the Franklin County Government Tower where Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court is housed. The physical altercation captured on the video involved Hawkins’ former bailiff, Kelli Johnson, and a woman who was in Hawkins’ courtroom. That woman’s face has been redacted.

The Dispatch obtained the two-minute video, which has no sound, from Franklin County, which has jurisdiction over the building and security cameras where the altercation took place…
