Officers find man sleeping inside home with posted trespass warnings

A Wildwood man was arrested after he was found sleeping in a home police were watching for trespassers.

Officers responded to a residence on Kilgore Street regarding an active watch order around 4 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. While checking the property, they looked through an open window to see 50-year-old Hodges Bruce Towns lying asleep on the floor in the middle of the living room.

The officers then walked over to the north side of the residence, where a door was found cracked open. They commanded Towns to come out, and he did so without incident. He also advised that he went into the home to sleep and wait for a ride. He was unaware of the posted trespass warnings enforced by the police, the report said.

Towns was charged with trespassing and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $2,000…
