Billerica police are investigating “aggressive and possibly threatening tactics” used by solicitors asking for donations on behalf of the Billerica Police Union, according to the police department.
On March 31, a North Billerica caterer reported that they were threatened over the phone by a solicitation company that claimed to be raising money for the Billerica Police Union, Billerica police said in a Monday press release. The caterer told police that a solicitor who identified himself as “Mike” had used aggressive tactics to ask for a yearly donation.
The caterer said he could not donate this year, but the catering company then received at least two more calls from new numbers during which a solicitor again aggressively asked for a donation to the union, police said. During the third call, the solicitor began making threats of harm…
