Jaylen Thompson is keeping his barber while switching sides in the Battle for the Bones rivalry. The Memphis transfer was one of three former Tigers who swapped in their stripes for UAB’s green and gold this offseason, joining fellow defensive back Jeremiah Jordan and receiver C.J. Smith as part of the Blazers’ rebuilt roster.
Having a few familiar faces around has helped Thompson survive friendly ribbing from some of his new teammates, as UAB’s returning players are quick to remind him of the Blazers’ upset win over then-No.22 Memphis last year. It also means the Murfreesboro, Tennessee native won’t have to worry about finding a new barber while getting his bearings in Birmingham over the next few months.
