Solvay, N.Y. — A fire broke out late Monday at a packaging plant in Solvay, spreading through multiple floors before being brought under control, fire officials said.
At about 9:45 p.m., an employee reported a large fire in Plant 2 at the Smurfit Westrock Solvay Mill, 53 Industrial Pkwy., according to Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Rotella, a spokesperson for the Solvay Volunteer Fire Department.
