Morrisville postal worker admits to stealing $118K through money order scheme

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Oneida County man faces up to five years in prison after admitting to stealing thousands of dollars through fake money orders.

27-year-old Delos Thurston, from Clinton, pleaded guilty to money order fraud in federal court in Syracuse on Tuesday, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Thurston, who was the postmaster of the post office in Morrisville, admitted that from April of last year to January of this year, he issued 179 money orders without paying for them. Investigators found that he accrued $118,088.19 from the scheme…
