Petrides’ Cat Keag made a major statement this past weekend, claiming gold in a nearly 30-wrestler international field at the Journeymen World Classic in Schenectady—an elite freestyle event that draws top high school talent from more than 20 countries. Competing in the 182-pound class, Keag wrestled above her weight and topped the field.
“As soon as I got off the mat I was just so hyper; I couldn’t stand still because of how excited I was,” said Keag, who has her eyes set on competing at nationals in North Dakota in July.
