EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — April marks Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month, and El Paso Animal Services is using the occasion to raise awareness about a frequently overlooked issue: cruelty toward cats.
According to the department, community cats are among the most underreported victims of animal abuse. In response, officials have launched the “Claws Against Cruelty” campaign, aimed at bringing attention to these cases and encouraging residents to take action.
Throughout the month, the organization will host a variety of community-focused events, including educational classes, giveaways, and activities designed for all age groups.
