ICE pepper sprays observers in South Tucson

At least one ICE agent pepper sprayed a group of observers in South Tucson Monday morning, according to multiple community members. Cellphone footage provided to AZPM also offers glimpses into the encounter, which unfolded shortly after 10 am in a Walgreen’s parking lot on 29th Street and South 6th Avenue.

Observers are volunteers who witness and document interactions with ICE. The federal agency has received vehement pushback in recent months over its interactions with community members and observers — particularly after federal agents fatally shot Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis…
