HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A man was hospitalized after a crush injury on Newport News Avenue in Hampton Tuesday afternoon, according to the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue.
On April 7 at around 2:08 p.m., dispatchers received a call for a traumatic injury in the 800 block of Newport News Avenue. The division’s crews arrived to the scene at around 2:15 p.m. Medics treated the man for a crush injury to a lower extremity. The division confirmed the injury was not to a dangerous area of the body.
