City of Rockport launches dispatcher appreciation effort

The City of Rockport is inviting residents to show appreciation for public safety dispatchers through a community recognition effort called “Gratitude in Action,” part of the city’s Hooked on Rockport initiative.

The program encourages residents to submit messages of thanks to public safety telecommunicators, who support police, fire and emergency medical services during emergency responses.

Residents may participate by writing messages on paper leaves, flowers or butterflies and adding them to the Telecommunicator Gratitude Tree. Materials are available at City Hall, 2751 SH 35 Bypass, and the Communications Center, 714 E. Concho Street. Messages also may be submitted by email to [email protected] or [email protected], or by commenting on the city’s social media posts so staff can add the message to the tree…
