The Ruby-throated hummingbirds have arrived in Arkansas | What to know

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Every year, Ruby-throated hummingbirds make their way through Arkansas as they migrate from Central America to mate during the spring and summer months–and they’re arriving right on schedule.

Sightings of the tiny birds have already been reported in Northwest Arkansas, including Bella Vista, Cave Springs, and Fayetteville, and will continue to increase throughout April.

Sherri Sanders from the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture said these few sightings are most likely scouts finding food sources for the rest of the population, but those interested should start putting out feeders now…
