EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (NEWS 15) — Louisiana State Police arrested five public officials, including a mayor and police chief, accused of illegally accessing government databases and sharing sensitive information with a suspect.
Detectives with LSP reported the officials accessed state computer systems and gave details about alleged victims in active investigations to an arrested suspect regarding his ongoing criminal case. They said the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office requested the investigation in March.
