Free Amarillo Pet Clinic Helps Owners Facing Rising Vet Costs

Amarillo is full of pet owners who love their pets as much as children. Owning pets is a huge responsibility, and it’s not cheap. You would be surprised at just how many pet owners in Amarillo do not keep up with their pets’ vaccinations.

Why Many Amarillo Pet Owners Are Skipping Vaccines

There are many reasons why pet owners don’t keep up with their pet vaccinations or health:

  • Busy schedules and forgetfulness
  • Misinformation online
  • Fear of side effects
  • β€œMy pet doesn’t need it” mindset
  • Cost

The biggest reason is cost.

Top Reasons Pets Are Not Vaccinated In Amarillo

The rising cost of pet care is getting out of control. What used to cost a small amount to keep your pet healthy is now a couple of hundred dollars per visit per pet, and if you have multiple pets, that adds up to thousands per year.

Rising Vet Costs Are Pricing Out Amarillo Pet Owners

I had one vet tell me it was going to cost over $1000 to neuter my German Shepherd puppy. I quickly left that vet and found one more affordable. But seriously, over $1000 for a neuter will make any responsible pet owner run for the hills.

When pets aren’t vaccinated or spayed and neutered, it leads to overpopulation and the spread of disease.

Why Microchipping Your Pet Matters In Amarillo

Pet microchipping is also important, especially if your pet is lost. Having them microchipped can bring them home faster.
