Middle school principal takes leave after racial incidents

After a recent outcry regarding racial incidents occurring at Lynnfield Middle School, Principal Stephen Ralston, who has served in Lynnfield Public Schools since 2005, has taken leave effective immediately and will separate from the district on June 30, according to a message sent out to parents by Superintendent Tom Geary.

In the message, Geary stated that the priority was to ensure continued stability and support for students, staff, and families. He also noted that the staff and administrative team remain committed to maintaining the strong academic and supportive environment “that our schools and families expect from the middle school.”
