Higher education, higher tuition: University of Virginia considers raising tuition

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The University of Virginia Board of Visitors Finance Committee is weighing a tuition increase that could affect what students pay next school year.

The board wants to raise undergraduate tuition between 3% and 4.5%. The proposed increase of $640 to $884 per in-state student would go toward staff pay, utilities, student safety and mental health services.
