Arrest made in fatal Forest Drive hit-and-run, police say

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on Forest Drive last month, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Authorities said 36-year-old Elijah Green is charged with hit and run involving death, failure to render aid and provide information, and violation of beginner’s permit. He is currently housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, and a judge denied his bond.

The arrest stems from a March 20 crash along the 5400 block of Forest Drive. Investigators said shortly before 7 p.m., Green is accused of driving along Forest Drive when he allegedly struck a male pedestrian.
