WATCH: Trapper, police wrangle 9-foot alligator found in Tampa pool

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa police and an alligator trapper wrangled a “Florida-style uninvited guest,” which was found in a pool on March 29, according to footage.

The Tampa Police Department posted body camera footage of officers as they responded to an intruder call in Arbor Greene. Officers found a 9-foot alligator in the screened-in pool area of the callers’ home.

Body camera footage shows a nuisance alligator trapper dragging the “scaly suspect” into the pool. The trapper said the alligator would tire himself while swimming.

Officers and a trapper pulled the alligator out of the pool and placed it in the back of a truck.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, nuisance alligators cannot be relocated and are typically euthanized…
