Man Pleads Guilty in Shooting Outside Pub in Atlantic City

A Gloucester County man is potentially facing more than a decade behind bars after pleading guilty to a shooting outside of a popular Atlantic City bar in 2024.

Suspect Admits Attempted Murder

Last Tuesday, March 31st, 35-year-old Rockwell Pohlig of West Deptford pleaded guilty to the charges of first-degree attempted murder, second-degree possession of a handgun for unlawful purposes, second-degree certain person not to possess a handgun, and second-degree possession of CDS with intent to distribute.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office says Pohlig admitted to attempting to kill the victim in this case, identified as “N.R.,” by shooting him outside The Chelsea Pub in Atlantic City on October 12th, 2024.

Pohlig turned himself in to the Atlantic County Justice Facility several days later and also admitted to bringing over one ounce of synthetic cannabinoid into the jail at the time of his surrender with the intent to distribute it to other inmates.

13-year Prison Sentence Recommended

In exchange for the guilty plea, the State will recommend a sentence of 13 years in state prison, subject with 85% parole ineligibility under the No Early Release Act…
