Free learn-to-fish program begins Saturday on Onondaga Lake

Onondaga County Parks is teaming up with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for a learn to fish program on Onondaga Lake beginning Saturday, April 11, from 2-4 p.m.

The family-friendly, catch-and-release program runs through Sept. 12 and is open to anglers of all ages, abilities, and skill level. Registration is not required.

“Join DEC’s learn-to-fish events offering everyone of any ability a chance to get started fishing or introduce others to fishing,” said DEC Region 7 Director Dereth Glance. “All equipment is provided and no license is needed. All abilities and experiences are welcome and supported!”…
