SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — A group of historic cottages along Fruitville Road near downtown Sarasota could be demolished. The colorful cottages currently house a number of small businesses including a breakfast joint, a spa, lunch spots and more.
The 3.4-acre property made up of 22 parcels is currently under contract. A developer aims to clear the property to make way for an apartment complex with 324 units.
