Mayor says deal could come soon for Capital City Stadium property

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Capital City Stadium has sat empty for more than a decade, but new development could soon be on the way.

The stadium closed 12 years ago after the Columbia Blowfish played their last game. Since then, the property has remained vacant and overgrown. Now, the City of Columbia says it may be close to a deal to bring new life to the site.
