Mission & population served
The Audubon Society of Kalamazoo’s mission is bird and wildlife conservation, nature education, and outdoor recreation. We serve Kalamazoo community members, from the novice birdwatcher to hardcore bird nerd, providing outdoor recreation opportunities to engage with birds and the larger natural community.
We also serve students and teachers through classroom visits from seasoned educators, small grants for teachers, and our Peregrine Falconcam. Audubon Society of Kalamazoo (ASK) aims to spark an interest in birds and the larger natural community among area students.
We serve birds by supporting bird and wildlife conservation and working to strengthen local ecosystems, benefiting birds and myriad other creatures, including humans.

Students were able to learn about birds up close with mounted birds in a classroom and get outside with ASK-provided binoculars and leaders to see birds in their natural habitats.
