Active weather pattern late week into weekend

AUSTIN (KXAN) β€” A relatively quiet couple of days ahead of a turn to stormier weather later this week.

More clouds than sun can be expected most of today with afternoon highs in the low to mid-70s. There’s a slim chance a few stray showers clip parts of the Hill Country later this evening, but the majority of us will stay dry.

Storms and showers will become more common late week into the weekend.

The turn in our weather kicks off late Thursday with a few showers and thunderstorms possible after sunset. Rain chances improve Friday into the weekend with spotty to scattered showers and storms possible at times. It won’t rain every hour of every day, but rounds of stormy weather could bring locally heavy rain and severe weather at times.

Already, Saturday and Sunday have been marked by the Storm Prediction Center for the potential for severe storms.

At least low rain chances continue into early next week as our wet start to April should carry over into the second half of the month…
