5 people displaced by accidental Lafayette apartment fire believed started by candle

LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Five people are without a home after an apartment fire, according to the Lafayette Fire Department.

Firefighters reported it happened on Failla Road near La Neuville Road on Tuesday, April 7, around 3:15 p.m.

They said the woman living in the apartment told them the fire started in her bedroom. They added she tried to put it out herself before getting out safely…
